How to Choose the Right Collaborative Lawyer

How does someone choose the right collaborative lawyer for their unique situation?

Amy Zylman Shimalla’s Answer:

As with any divorce, a party must be comfortable with their lawyer. It is a very important relationship. The party should check their lawyer’s credentials. Do they have significant experience in handling collaborative matters? The client should trust his/her attorney and the advice they provide. Likewise, the attorney must feel comfortable with the client and the outcome they seek. It should be a mutually respectful relationship.
